Mindfulness

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

At MWPS our children participate in 5 minutes of Mindfulness every day.

We are implementing Mindfulness because when we tune in to our body and our mind through mindfulness, we can improve our learning.

Mindfulness assists mental health and wellbeing and has been successfully implemented in a wide variety of government and non-government schools with positive results in classes of all sizes, backgrounds, locations and ages.

It has also been proven to help students with sleep, wellbeing, managing emotions, concentration and school behaviour including reductions in bullying.

It assists in:

•stress management,

•increased resilience,

•increased creativity,

•better decision making, and

•a sense of calm, clarity and contentment.

Please ask your child all about Mindfulness and maybe they can try it at home.
