Teacher observing each other to improve their craft.

This week, our teachers have learnt a great deal from observing each other teach. We do this regularly because it is an excellent way for teachers to learn from each other and improve the way they teach. All of our teachers watch various lessons very closely, taking detailed notes. They also interview the students in the lesson and collect work samples. After the lesson, the team engages in a robust conversation about the teaching and learning. Each teacher who observed then provides specific feedback to the teacher. It is a very rigorous process and we love it because we learn so much!

NAPLAN ONLINE Years 3 & 5

NAPLAN testing will be conducted online in 2019 for Mildura West.

  • There’s a nation-wide practice test on the 28th March to test the system. On that morning, all our Gr 3 to 5 students will sit the practice test.
  • All Gr 3 & 5 students also received a parent information flyer on the NAPLAN testing, please familiarise yourself with this.
  • You can help your child by having a look at the Public demonstration site- https://www.nap.edu.au/online-assessment/public-demonstration-site this site allows you to experience what the test will be like.
  • Any questions please see your classroom teacher or Luke Jeffers

Girls Cricket

Yesterday we went to the Aerodrome Ovals to play in the Sunraysia Cricket Finals. In our first game we played Nichols Point and we just lost by 9 runs. In the second game we played really well against the Lake and we had a win by 19 runs. In our last game we won a really close game against Sacred Heart. Overall we came second, making us the second best girls cricket team in Sunraysia. We took lots of wickets and hit lots of fours. Ashlyn even hit a six. Jordan amused everyone when she was wicketkeeper. Despite the hot day, we had lots of fun.

Thank you Mr Hall for taking us.
