National Ride2School Day

National Ride2school Day is to encourage our students and families to be involved in any active travel such as walking, riding and skateboarding. Next week we will have our first Walking Bus for Term 1 to coincide with National Ride2School Day.  We have the Walking Bus once a month with the police and Neighbourhood Watch supervising it. Everyone is welcome: walkers, bikes, trikes, scooters and even prams. The ‘bus’ will leave the corner of Washington Drive and Riverside Avenue at 8:30am. You can ‘board’ the bus on the way!!

Grade 5 Lake Cullulleraine Camp Reminder

The Grade 5 Camp to Lake Cullulleraine is fast approaching. Please make sure you have paid the camp in full by this Monday 19th March 2018. Unfortunately, if the camp is not paid in full your child will not be able to attend the camp.

Have you seen your child at school lately? Log onto Seesaw.

Last Friday we sent a flyer home. Have you logged on to view

your child’s profile yet? It’ll show you a few snaps of classroom happenings.

What is Seesaw?

Seesaw is a secure online Journal to record photos, observations and comments, to build up a record of your child’s experiences during their time with us. This platform allows us to work with parents and carers to share information and communicate the children’s learning in and outside of the classroom.

Why use Seesaw?

We are always looking at ways we can improve our communication with parents. Seesaw will allow us to share more of what your child is doing at school and provide a window into the classroom.

Last Friday Tom Pratt and Ruby Hancock represented the school at the Sunraysia Primary Schools Swimming competition. Ruby competed in freestyle and breaststroke, coming 2nd and 5th in her heats. Tom competed in freestyle placing 4th in his heat. A wonderful effort by both students.

A Sunraysia Primary Schools Swim Meet, is being held at Irymple Swimming Pool on Thursday March 15th. The meet will begin at 5:30pm. Entries are open to all age groups and anyone interested in entering needs to see Mr Hall by Tuesday 13th March. Obviously, entrants need to be very competent swimmers.

All details are on the flyer available from Mr Hall.

Train and Rail Crossings

V-line has announced that all freight services have returned to the Mildura Line. While there are still some work crews and heavy machinery completing final works and crossing upgrades, the train’s lines are back in full use. Please observe signs and signals, and traffic laws, when approaching the Rail Crossings. This includes crossings immediately adjacent to our school on Ninth Street and Tenth Street.
